If you’re looking for souvenirs or crafts in Mexico City, this mercado (market) is a must-stop.
It’s packed with traditional Mexican handicrafts, so it’s fun just to browse! The selection is top-class even by Mexico standards, and you can find everything from popular items like Mexican folk costumes, cushion covers, and mercado bags to famous ceramics such as Talavera and Serbín pottery♡ Some shops don’t allow photography, so be careful when taking pictures!

② Casa Luis Barragán (Luis Barragán House and Studio)

The home and studio where Luis Barragán, one of Mexico’s most famous architects, lived and worked.
This striking building is known for its vivid colors and the way it makes use of natural light. The best photo spot is the pink wall on the rooftop. The contrast with the green plants creates beautiful, natural-looking shots! Advance reservations are required to enter Casa Luis Barragán, so please book through the website. Also note that taking photos or bringing in a camera requires an additional 500 pesos (as of 2019), separate from the admission fee.

③ Xochimilco

Xochimilco is about 45 minutes to 1 hour by car from central Mexico City. It’s a town where strong traditions from the Aztec era remain, so it’s recommended if you want to experience that atmosphere.
On weekends, cruising the canals on a small, colorful boat called a trajinera is a local favorite. If you have time, definitely stop by!

④ Casa de los Azulejos (House of Tiles) [Centro area]

This 18th-century Baroque building in the Centro area is known as the “House of Tiles.”
It’s decorated with blue-and-white tiles from Puebla, and its very Mexican color palette makes it incredibly photogenic! It’s also close to famous sightseeing spots like Mexico City’s Zócalo and the Palace of Fine Arts, so why not stop by while sightseeing?

⑤ Comedor Lucerna [Juárez area]

"Comedor Lucerna" is a food court with several shops gathered together.
The dining area is covered with colorful umbrellas, making it super cute! The exterior wall features a Frida Kahlo mural, which is also very Instagram-worthy.

"TANE MEXICO" is a long-established jewelry store founded in Mexico in 1942.
The exterior, with a Mexican-pink wall and a cactus standing out beside the entrance, is a hugely popular photo spot with locals, too.
