Recommended breakfast spots in New York

New Yorkers start their mornings early!
Some people go for a run in Central Park from the early morning, and lately there are even more businesspeople who skip going out for drinks at night and instead handle business meetings from the morning.
That’s why New York is a fierce breakfast battleground, packed with restaurants that open early and serve outstanding breakfasts! Here are our carefully selected breakfast spots you’ll want to visit when traveling to New York.

Lecoucou

Le CouCou

138 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10013

Le CouCou is a French restaurant on the first floor of the fashionable boutique hotel 11 Howard in SoHo.
It even ranked 85th in the restaurant awards “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” and has also earned a Michelin star, making it a truly accomplished restaurant.
The vintage-inspired decor and exposed brick make the interior incredibly stylish, and the high ceilings give it a spacious feel.
The restaurant was created by Stephen Starr, who operates many popular restaurants across the U.S., including The Clocktower and Upland.
The chef is Daniel Rose, known for popular Paris bistros such as Chez La Vieille. It’s popular with New Yorkers because they can experience authentic Paris flavors without leaving New York.
Especially during dinner and weekend brunch, it can be hard to get a reservation.
For breakfast, the pancakes are especially recommended. Served on a hot skillet, they’re far more delicate and light than the kind you’d find at an American diner. The cream and blueberries are, of course, a perfect match.

Lexington Candy Shop was founded in 1925! This historic, ultra-traditional diner has been around for three generations.
Located in the heart of the Upper East Side, just steps from the 86th Street subway station, this place has many loyal local customers and has long been loved by the neighborhood. People order without looking at the menu and call the staff by name.
The interior is decorated with lots of photos and posters, making it feel like a movie set!
The 1920s atmosphere still lingers strongly, so you can definitely enjoy a nostalgic vibe.
The menu is centered on classic American food such as omelets, sandwiches, and hamburgers.
They also serve diner classics like egg creams and candy soda!
The recommended item is the Cinnamon Walnut Raisin French Toast. It looks sweet at a glance, but it’s pure America. We definitely recommend it for anyone with a sweet tooth.

When it comes to a New Yorker’s breakfast, it’s bagels!
Among the many bagel shops, one of the most popular in New York is the stylish blue-flag-and-brick-wall bagel shop “Murray’s Bagels”
It fits right in with the trendy atmosphere of Greenwich Village.
Open from 6:30 in the morning, this place always has a line stretching out the door.
They’re serious about handmade quality, and while they have many tourists, it’s easy to see why they also have so many New York fans. From simple bagels to ones stuffed with plenty of fillings, there’s a wide variety.
It looks like the perfect way to start a great day with delicious bagels.
The bagels are made to order, with you choosing both the bagel and the filling yourself. There’s a wide range of bagels, including plain, poppy seed, sesame, onion, salt, and garlic!
If you ask for “everything,” you’ll get a bagel topped with all of it.
The filling options are endless! Choose your favorite ingredients like cheese, lettuce, and tomato to make a bagel that’s all your own.
If it’s your first time, smoked salmon is the way to go! Paired with cream cheese, it’s so good it’ll make your cheeks fall off.
By the way, if you’re picturing a Japanese bagel, you’ll be surprised at how big these are, so for women, sharing one between two people might be just right.

The bakery that suddenly appeared in Manhattan’s Lower East Side and instantly became the talk of the town is “Supermoon Bakehouse”
It’s the New York location of Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, the shop that created the croffin (croissant + muffin), a hybrid pastry that caused a huge buzz in San Francisco.
Unlike a regular bakery, the product display is surprising: samples are lined up on a large table made of pink marble.
When you order from the staff, they bring it out from the back.
And best of all, what Instagram girls love most is the silver box in the back that shines with holographic colors!
No matter how you frame it, it’s Instagram-worthy. This is a one-of-a-kind bakery that has captured the hearts of pastry lovers and won’t let go.
With this display, you can certainly look at the products closely, imagine what they might taste like, and get excited!
Croissants are the main attraction, but there are also donuts, kouign-amann, and of course croffins.
Popular items may sell out early in the day.
The strawberry croissant is the one to try! It’s a popular item that’s guaranteed to sell out.
